Multidisciplinary Sessions: Social Skills Developing in Children with Autism

Splash & Connect

ClubSENsational Autism Consultancy Services

What do we offer?

At clubSENsational, we are excited to offer our Splash & Connect Sessions, specifically designed for young people with autism and learning difficulties. These sessions create a dynamic and supportive environment that promotes holistic development and addresses each individual’s diverse needs.

Our Multidisciplinary Sessions are 90 minutes long. They combine two services to create a unique learning experience that nurtures the mind and body.

  • Learning Activities:  45 minutes of engaging activities and motivating group games focused on enhancing communication and social skills, fostering independence, developing life skills, and improving emotional well-being. This interactive approach helps young people build essential skills and encourages social interaction and collaboration with peers, making learning enjoyable and impactful.
  • Physical Activity: 45 minutes of physical activity through swimming. Engaging in physical exercise is crucial for young people with autism and learning difficulties, as it helps improve motor skills, coordination, and overall wellness while also reducing anxiety and stress levels.

multidisciplinary approach is essential as it enables us to tackle the interconnected dimensions of a young person’s development. By integrating social, emotional, and physical factors, we provide our participants with holistic support tailored to their individual needs. This method promotes personal growth while enhancing confidence and resilience, empowering young people to succeed in diverse environments.

“WHERE WATER & CONNECTION BECOME MORE THAN JUST A SWIMMING SESSION”

At clubSENsational, we understand that everyone has unique needs when accessing aquatic  activities. That is why our swimming sessions are personalised to each student’s individual  requirements, making swimming more than just a lesson.

1 to 1

We provide personalized, one-on-one support during each session to meet every student’s unique needs. By embracing a person centred approach, we tailor our sessions around their strengths and challenges, fostering an environment where they feel valued and understood. We aim to adapt to each student, empowering them to thrive in their learning journey.

STRUCTURED SESSIONS & VISUAL AIDS

We believe in the importance of verbal and nonverbal communication. To make learning more engaging, we use resources like mini-schedules, routine lists, instruction grids, first, next, and then boards, and Augmented Alternative Communication boards. This allows each student to learn at their own speed, providing a customized learning experience. Each session is well-structured, with clear expectations and a familiar routine, helping students feel safe and confident as they progress.

Emotional Regulation

We prioritize fostering a calm and supportive environment that enhances emotional regulation. Using sensory-appropriate techniques empowers students to manage their emotions effectively and feel comfortable in various settings, leading to a positive and enjoyable experience. Our instructors build trust and focus on each individual’s unique needs, encouraging communication, confidence, and emotional well-being growth.
