What do we offer?
clubSENsational offers every
Sunday
(9.30-11 am, 11-12.30 pm and 12.30-2 pm),
group sessions for young people with autism and learning difficulties.
In our one hour and thirty minutes (1.5h) SundaySessions we provide a wide range of fun and engaging group games and activities focused on:
Communication & Social skills
Independence
Emotional well-being
Physical well-being (Swimming)
All the activities in our group sessions are client led, we use motivating resources and tools to keep all our clients actively engaged.
Therefore, we do not force any client to take part in the activities if they do not feel ready.
SWIMMING
Swimming can help our students to improve speech, coordination, social skills, self-esteem, and cognitive processing.
We offer a specific swimming program with qualified and autism-trained swimming instructors aiming to enhance aquatics skills, water safety and building water confidence as well as exploration through structured, fun
and sensory appropriate lessons.
SUPPORT
We offer 1 to 1 support at all times during our sessions with Autism Specialists / SEND teachers highly trained on the field.
Also, all our Autism Specialist working at the pool side are competent Swimming Instructors with STA qualifications.
All our profesionals have cleared DBS checks.
CLASSROOM
We provide 60 minutes of group games and activities using motivating resources.
Our aim is to create lots of opportunities for spontaneous communication and independence.
Clear routines and structure provide predictability helping our clients to remain calm and regulated while active engaged.
VISUAL AIDS
All our games and activities are well structured and supported with visual aids.
We use mini-schedules, routine list, instruction grids, first, next and then boards and Augmentative Alternative Communication boards.
Visual aids are very important during our sessions as they help our clients to remember what is happening at all times.
POOL
We offer 30 minutes in our swimming pool working with a specific swimming program and qualified swimming instructors who are also autism specialists.
Our aim is to enhance aquatics skills, water safety and building water confidence as well as exploration through structured, fun and sensory appropriate lessons.
